Hello and welcome to this space where I can tell you a little about me and why I give my heart to this work.

My name is Rúna and I am a nature-based, professional celebrant. I hold 7 years experience of writing and leading ceremonies full-time after training with the Fellowship of Professional Celebrants in 2012. Working around the UK, I have been honoured to lead some joyful weddings and handfastings, yet found myself giving more time to funerals for several years due to my own experience of grief in the loss of my mother.

In the last two years I have welcomed my daughters, Willow and River, earthside and after naturally taking a step back to fully embrace motherhood, I have returned to my heart's work in creating Elska Ceremonies. Elska is an Old Norse word meaning 'to love'.

I have held a loving affinity with nature since I can remember (as this photo of me as a child shows) and live in my own way, a pagan path. Growing up in the Shropshire countryside, I was usually outside, drawn to water and fascinated by woodlands.

It has always come very naturally to me to include this love in my ceremonies, through language and metaphor. Our lives and our many transitions are so much better understood when we see them as a whole with nature and all its ebbs and flows.

This draws those people to me who wish to hold their ceremonies either outdoors or would like a theme of nature woven throughout the space held and the words shared.

Now living in North wales, with endless backdrops to host all manner of weddings, handfastings and namings, no matter the season, the land is waiting for us to celebrate your day, in your way. Whether you're pagan, bohemian, maybe a keen bushcrafter or simply because you love the earth.

I believe in Ceremony.

It is a part of me.

And to hold space for you is where I belong.
